Experts and fans all have a different overview of the 2017 Major League Baseball Season. Billy, the 12 year old Cub fan on the north side of the Windy City, anxiously awaits watching his heroes Rizzo, Bryant and Arrieta commence the quest for repeating the capture of the Holy Grail, a feat which had eluded the Cubbie faithful for 108 years. His cousin Mary, a southsider, has no such aspirations for her White Sox and tearfully stares at her wall poster of Chris Sale, now the ace of the team whose red footwear will delight the Bostonians in Fenway Park.
In LA, Mike Trout, continues to remind baseball historians of the Mick, and is typically the first pick of Fantasy baseball enthusiasts, while his NL neighbor, the Dodgers, figure to contend behind the premier pitcher in the game, Clayton Kershaw, whose exploits have begun comparisons with a Hall Of Fame legend, Sandy Koufax, who began his career in Brooklyn before moving west.
Back east, New Yorkers have a different overview of the 2017 Major League Baseball Season. They enjoy the banter of sports talk with Mike Francesa, Michael Kay and the like as they profess allegiance to the Mets and Yankees. The NL East squad, boasting a formidable young pitching staff led by Noah Syndegard (the heartthrob “Thor” to an adoring female fan base) and Jason DeGrom, and the power hitting Yoenis Cespedes, is well positioned to do battle with the team which resides in our Nation’s capital, led by Bryce Harper. While in the Bronx, the Yankees after saying good bye to both Derek and ARod, the youth movement has created a renewed fan base mania with the likes of Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird and Aaron Judge.
In Cleveland Indians, oh so close in 2016, the overview of the 2017 Major League Baseball Season beams with optimism. Cleveland remains a prime contender to repeat as the AL World Series representative, but will this be the year that Toronto and their underrated pitching staff breaks through? How about Texas or Seattle? So many questions that will unfold over the course of 162 games!
So get ready people. Whether rooting for your favorite team or Managing your own Fantasy Baseball squad, 2017 aspires to provide a welcome relief from life’s trials and tribulations. Enjoy!
